The Engineering Heritage Committee organises lectures and takes part
in a number of heritage conferences both locally and interstate. Information with
regard to lectures and conferences associated with Engineering Heritage are listed below.
Sydney Based Lectures A number of Sydney based lectures are organised by the Committee. These are usually held in the Engineers Australia - Sydney Division auditorium at 8 Thomas Street Chatswood ( ground floor ) (adjacent to Chatswood station on the west side). All guests are welcome. Other Sydney Lectures - 2010 ASHET Lectures The Australian Society for History of Engineering & Technology holds regular lectures and tours. Lectures are usually held at History House, Macquarie Street Sydney. For more inforamtion on their program go to http://www.ashet.org.au.
The Australian National Engineering Heritage Conference Engineering Heritage Australia organises a conference every two years. New Zealand Conference 2009 The conference was held in conjunction with our New Zealand counterparts, IPENZ, at Dunedin New Zealand in late 2009. Papers are now available on line at - http://ipenz.org.nz/heritage/conference/papers.cfm Hobart, Tasmania Conference 2011 The next national conference shall be held in Hobart, Tasmania in November 2011. Previous Conferences The lecture papers from the Sydney Engineering Heritage Conference held in 2005 are available on CD. If you wish to obtain a copy please contact the Secretary.
